Kogi Election:Faleke Picks Audu's Son as Running Mate as Bello's Supporter Clash with Faleke's

Mr James Faleke, who was running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the Nov. 21 Kogi Governorship election, has vowed to reclaim the mandate of the people of the state given freely to the APC during the election.
Faleke who has been picked as the substitute for the late Abubakar Audu, made this assertion while addressing hundreds of APC supporters in Lokoja on Monday.
Quoting a section of the constitution while picking Mohammed Audu as his running mate, he pointed out that attempts to snatch power from the reins of the APC in Kogi State were fruitless as the party is poised to chart a new course for the state.
He explained that there is no contention between him and the immediate political family of late Abubakar Audu and described the task ahead as a moral burden on him to fight on, till the victory of APC is accomplished.
Going back to the primary election conducted on August 28, 2015, he noted that he remained the only person holding on to the votes cast for the APC.
Some APC leaders from the three senatorial districts of the state were present as Mr Faleke made his decision known to his supporters.
Meanwhile, in another development,it is reported that supporters of James Faleke and Yahaya Bello clash at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The party’s National Working Committee members, reporters and visitors at the secretariat have been held hostage by feuding youths.
Bello is being pushed by some leaders of the party to take the governorship ticket, having taken part in all processes during the primaries of the party.
The feuding youths are said to be hauling stones at the secretariat building and passers-by. (Source: Channels tv)

The militants, who stopped and drove into a short motorcade transporting the former leader of the nation from the Julius Berger bridge area of the state capital Yenagoa, trailed and chased the motorcade to the entrance of the private house of Jonathan in the Kpansia area of the town, before they were crushed and detained by a combined team of security operatives attached to the ex-president.

Revenge Mission: Boko Haram Attacks Borno and Kidnapp teenage Girls again

Vanguard reports that seven persons including a soldier, were killed in both Bam and Gajigana villages of Biu and Magumeri Local Government Areas of Borno State.
Bam is about 7 kilometers away from Buratai village the home town of Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai. Buratai village has suffered series of Boko Haram attacks including the razing down of a mansion owned by the Army General. In the two attacks, while unspecified numbers of teenage girls were abducted in Bam Village, scores of people were injured in Gajigana village after insurgents set ablaze shops and houses without confrontation.
A resident of the area who fled to Miringa town for safety, Mallam Ali Bam, told Vanguard on phone that the insurgents went to the village at about 3:30 am at the weekend and set ablaze the whole village, after killing four persons and fled unchallenged with unspecified number of unmarried teenage girls kidnapped.
He said “the Boko Haram terrorists after separating a lot of teenage girls from married women in Bam, set ablaze the whole village and fled with the girls unchallenged, as the attack lasted for some hours before they fled. I called on General Buratai to do something as we have been telling the soldiers that the Boko Haram were so close to the village, but they only went to Mangari village which is few kilometers away from Buratai and shot into the air and left. The soldiers don’t want to confront the terrorists, Buratai should better do something before they start attacking and sacking villages, as they were doing before.”
Similarly, Boko Haram terrorists attacked and burnt down Gajiganna village killing three persons including a soldier before carting away a lot of foodstuff.
Gajigana is north and about 50 kilometres drive from Maiduguri.
A member of the Civilian JTF from the area, Mallam Aliyu Jibrin,  told Vanguard that the insurgents who came at 8:30pm on Friday started shooting sporadically into the air to scare people, where they killed one man, one woman and a soldier before they carted away a lot of foodstuff after setting ablaze all the shops in the village.
“I believe it was a revenge mission, because recently, we arrested over 17 Boko Haram insurgents in the community and handed them over to the military. I am calling on the Federal government and the military authorities to do something about the pockets of insurgents in the bushes and villagers before they regroup and start attacking big towns and villages,” he stated.
He lamented that the attack on Gajigana could have been avoided if soldiers acted on the information at hand, but when they came the soldiers took to their heels without facing the insurgents.

End Time is Here: 3,500 Male Sex Workers Uncovered In Abuja

According to reports from the Leadership,The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) says its recent finding has identified about 3500 male sex workers within the Abuja city centre.
The agency added that it is worried by this figures because over 60 per cent of these men are married raising the concern of spouse HIV transmission.
At its maiden lecture on Thursday to mark this year’s World AIDS day in Abuja with the theme- Strategies for Ending AIDS in Nigeria by 2030, the Director General of NACA, Professor John Idoko said the agency is now targeting hotspot areas in its drive to end the HIV epidemic.
Within the Federal Capital Terrritory, we found that if we focus our resources in three council areas of Gwagwalada, Bwari and Abuja Municipal, we would have covered a greater population of persons with HIV within the area,”
Idoko said the agency is developing interventions to be able to reduce contact between infected and uninfected persons.
In his lecture, Professor James Blanchard, director of Global Health at the University of Manitoba, Canada said that even with modern technologies, HIV prevention is a very complex thing because there are social factors that needs to be addressed like political commitment and advocacy, laws and labour policies, community mobilisation and a host of other things.
He said Nigerian is a very large and complex country and reaching those who need to receive the treatment requires that the country focus on the right environment and high risk areas.
“We need to match our HIV interventions with the population of HIV distribution. We need to get down to the micro level to know where we put our resources. We have the sex workers, persons who inject drugs and men who have sex with men,” he said.
He explained that NACA survey has identified eight priority states in Nigeria becaus HIV is not evenly distributed adding that there are very large population in parts of FCT, Lagos, Nasarawa and Benue.
He said “We found that in Benue, 60 per cent of men who visited bars, restaurants and hotels were seeking sexual partners while 12 per cent of the females were seeking sexual partners and 9 percent of those who patronise these places are female sex workers.
“We also saw substantial risk behaviour in rural areas. In Benue, 30 per cent of the unmarried men had visited a worker and 18 per cent had visited a sex workers within the last one month. But this was not the same across state as some places were high risk areas.”
Also, a high proportion of married women in the NACA study reported having more then one sexual partner in Cross River and Benue within the last six months.
“We need to recognise that Nigeria a high mixed epidemic with a large number of female sex workers and high causal and female sex workers in urban areas,” Blanchard said.
According to him, Nigeria need to think of how it can cover its key population particularly the sex workers through intensified outreaches, condom programming, intensifying treatment and testing programme.
“We need to think of structural programmes to reduce stigma, to reduce vulnerability and violence for sex workers. We should focus our interventions in urban hotspot rather than thinking of a general flood irrigation approach,” he added.

TB Joshua to be arraigned today Over Church Building Collapse

According to reports from news express, the trustees of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) will today be arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the collapse of a six-story building in the church on September 12, 2014, which led to the death of 116 persons.
Senior Pastor of the church, Prophet T.B Joshua is one of the trustees.
The trustees will be arraigned before Justice Lawal Akapo alongside the engineers that constructed the collapsed building.

A statement by the deputy director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Bola Akingbade confirmed the scheduled arraignment.
It would be recalled that Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court in Lagos had dismissed the fundamental human rights enforcement suits filed by the engineers who constructed the collapsed six-story building to stop their planned trial.
The engineers, Mr. Oladele Ogundeji and Mr. Akinbela Fatiregun, had filed two separate suits before Justice Buba seeking an order restraining the police from inviting, arresting or prosecuting them over the victims’ death.

The Lagos State Government had set up a coroner inquest to unravel what went wrong, and via a verdict delivered on August 7, 2015 by Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe, the Coroner had indicted the engineers and recommended them for investigation and prosecution for criminal negligence.

54 Yr Old Narrates How he deceives Customers into Buying Soap instead of Phones.

This 54-year-old man who hails from Effurun, Delta State, Michael Bisa, has been arrested for selling fake phones to customers in the Oshodi area of the state.

According to the police, Bisa allegedly swindled members of the public by disguising as a mobile phone seller in the area, selling bars of soap to them instead.

Punch Newspaper gathered that the police recovered bars of soap, shirts, some amount of money and envelopes from the suspect.
Bisa, a father of four, said in his statement that it was poverty that drove him to sell bars of soap as mobile phones.

He said, “What I did to my customers is called exchange. The people who came to me to buy mobile phones would be shown a real phone. But while we were discussing the price, I would carefully hide the phone in a white handkerchief and swap it with a bar of soap which I had already cut to size and put in a phone case.
“As soon as they left the spot, I would change my clothes so that the buyer would not recognise me again.”
Bisa added that a friend, who was now dead, identified as Hakeem Tijani, introduced him to the “job” about four years ago.
He said, “I was a refrigerator technician in Delta State. I came to Lagos to look for greener pastures about 15 years ago. When the situation got so hard for me, I met a friend, Hakeem Tijani, who is now late. He was the one who taught me the job. Since that time, about four years ago, I have been surviving this way.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspect would be charged to court soon. -(Source)

The Rape Case Between Late Gov. Audu's Son, Mustapha Audu and Sugabelly

When US based blogger and popular twitter personality @Empress Sugabelly had her private messages to a friend exposed by another twitter user, there was a lot of buzz on social media because not only were the contents of the messages very disturbing in it's graphic description of the continuous sexual violation she was allegedly subjected to by the sons and friends of the late governor of Kogi state, Abubabakar Audu,  it also coincided with the death of latter.

There were questions like why didn't she speak up? Why did she keep going back when she knew she what was in store for her in their hands? Why did she have to wait till the former governor of Kogi state passed on before she spoke up? Some were of the opinion that the opposition sponsored her on a smearing campaign.

Today, the lady in the eye of the controversy has come out to speak fully about her ordeal and address some of those questions. In her very descriptive blog post which she titled "Surviving Mustapha Audu and His Rape Brigade", she alleged that Mustapha Audu, who she had begun a sexual relationship with at the age 17 before it degenerated into abuse, had taken compromising photographs of her nakedness. She was afraid that if she didn't do his bidding, he would circulate the photos.

This is usually the case with revenge porn. Revenge porn is sexually explicit images or video that is distributed without the consent of the subject. The making of sexually explicit images or video may be made by a partner of an intimate relationship with the knowledge and consent of the subject, or it may be made without their knowledge. The possession of the material may be used by the partner to blackmail the subject into performing other sex acts, or to intimidate them from breaking off the relationship. The practice has also been described as a form of psychological abuse and domestic violence.

In the light of this, she alleges that Mustapha Audu used the power he wielded over her through the possession of the sexually explicit images to subject her to all manner degradation ranging from rape, physical abuse, to forced group sex with his brothers, cousins and friends.

She alleges that the physical and pscyhological abuse went on for six months before she moved to the US for her university education.

As it is with rape victims, fear and shame did not allow her speak up about her ordeal.

According to NOI statistics, 3 in 10 Nigerians admitted to personally knowing someone who has been a victim of rape; citing stigmatisation as the main reason why many rape cases go unreported, while the reported cases are just a small fraction of the true figures of this crime that happens on an almost basis in the country.

While we wait for the Audus to respond to Empress Sugabelly's allegations, we urge the government to create public awareness against rape, as well as create more Rape Crisis centres that will counsel rape victims, as well as encourage those who are suffering in silence to speak up.

Meanwhile, well meàning Nigerians have started indicating interest in this case, see excerpt below:

*Abike Dabiri's tweet:

@sugabelly heartbreaking story. I sponsored the bill on Violence Against Women. I'm ready to support you, if you're ready.

*Oby Ezekwesili's tweet:

You mock @sugabelly ? I have just spent time with her Mom. Turned out to be my friend in Undergrad @ UNN. We just cried&cried & WE STAND!!!!

FAN: Omotola Husband Slept with me, Just as Wife too is Unfaithful-(LESSONS)

I am publishing this post not because we love or do gossip on this blog but because of the lessons that can be learnt  from the incident .... Please  follow me:

This is currently an on-going drama among followers of star actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde on her Instagram page as reported  by Nigeria films .
The whole drama ensued about two days ago when the actress, popularly known as Omosexy, shared a photograph of her husband, Captain Mathew Ekeinde, who she described as her ‘Man Crush’.
Shortly after she posted the picture online, her comment section was filled with compliments. But one of them with the name @asoebistyles, went contrary and accused the man of sleeping with her.
‘Hope he has stopped bleaching. He is old already, is that why Omotola used black and white photo,’ the said follower wrote.
This was greeted with several loyal followers of the actress, who rebuked the lady for the dirty words and accusation.
However, @asoebistyles struck again with more harsh words, saying ‘Just like some ate from his wife's awoof big yummy a*s, while he was banging mine. People are so funny, I give it to her sha, and not every woman can put up with a cheating + bleaching hubby. He is old and possibly still HIV negative, she should continue crushing on him.’
Omotola, who read about the accusation against her man, replied saying, ‘Your Page has no identity. Identify yourself with proof of your accusations or go find other victims. You're not a psychopath just looking for attention are you? This is bad behaviour get help.’
Her fans further lambasted the accuser, describing her as ‘hater’, who wants to cause confusion in the home of the star actress.

MORAL LESSONS:
Haters abound everywhere ,  you dont have to offend  them before  they  take  on  you.  Omotola  is about the fewest Nollywood  star  with  happy  home  i know , and so the haters  arent  use to that.  Her family  should be disintegrated they  believe. Else, why making public,   such  news?  Oh  perhaps  for cheap publicity?
Anyway,  my happiness  is in the way Omotola  replied her,  and its a lesson for all  married  young ladies-  your haters are Looking to crack  the wall around  your home..... So  shine  your eyes

Population Control In Nigeria: Lawmakers Disagree Over Motion

According to reports from Channels TV, A motion seeking to enact a law that will curb the rate of population growth in Nigeria led to a passionate debate in the House of Representatives.
A lawmaker raised the issue at Tuesday’s plenary, saying that Nigeria is under pressure from its growth rate which adds about five million people to the country’s population annually.
Honourable Babatunde Kolawole said that Nigeria must come up with an action plan to check the growing population.
“There is concern that unbridled population growth puts pressure on the country’s finances and infrastructure, especially food, housing, education and healthcare.
“It is also a catalyst for high unemployment, poverty, crime and others,” he said.
“Free To Born”
But one of his colleagues opposed the motion on religious ground, which led to a debate on the floor.
Even though some lawmakers supported the motion, those against it were more passionate.
Honourable Balarabe Salame said that Muslims were directed by Prophet Mohammed to marry up to four wives and that it was recommended that every Muslim could give birth to as many as they could.
“The moment you are a Muslim you must believe that you are free to born as many as you want,” Mr Salame said.
Honourable Idris Ahmed, however, pointed out that birth control was allowed in Islam, but argued that Japan had the same population with Nigeria and half the landmass of Nigeria. He said the nation had been able to effectively utilise their resources for the good of all.
He further stated that the problem with Nigeria was the inability of those in government to apply the resources as it should be.
To lay the issue to rest for further future debate, the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, said that the issue was about policy, which would be developed by Nigerians.
He referred the matter to the Committee on Justice, Committee on Rules and Business and the House Committee on Population to take a deep look at issues raised and advise him on how to proceed.
The House will have to wait for the committees to submit their position before a decision can be taken on the motion.

PURSUE, OVERTAKE AND RECOVER ALL!

TEXT: I Sam. 30:1-10
“And David enquired at the Lord, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” I Sam. 30:8

As we come to the end of this year, it becomes very important to review how the journey has been so far on our list of goals and aspirations for the passing year 2015.
For so many of us, there are books waiting to be published, songs waiting to be composed and written, videos and drama series awaiting to be churned  out of our creativity bank!
While for a few others, it is the idea of starting a business that has always lingered in their minds.
For others still, it is the plan to finish the Bible or any other book of choice.
Goals stretch us as human beings, they reveal to us our inner reserves of mental capacities.
However, we need to evaluate how we have fared so far in relation to our set goals and targets for the year.

It’s time to pursue the set goals and targets yet to be achieved for the year.
Those set goals must never be allowed to gather dust forever in the land of fantasy.
The pursuit of our set goals is manifested in our desire to go after them with all our mind, strength and zeal.

When pursuit is hot then overtaking happens.
To overtake is to catch up with an object of pursuit. It is to overrun a thing when in a chase.
Overtaking leads to recovery!
What you have not pursued, you cannot overtake and what you have not overtaken you can never recover without fail.
To recover is to have your dreams turned into realities. It is to turn imaginations into manifestations.
So, there is something you have left undone all this while that needs to be pursued, overtaken and recovered without fail!

    HOW TO FASTRACK YOUR LIFE

1.   DREAM AFRESH!
Nothing sponsors fresh results like fresh dreams. You are where you are in your life today as a result of the freshness of your dreams!
Where your dreams have not taken you is where you can never be in reality!
Your dreams determine the realities of your life; they are forerunner of your success or failure!
A wise man once noted that the dreams of today are the realities of tomorrow.
In order to successfully pursue, overtake and recover your lost grounds in 2015, you must dream afresh…New visions sponsor new vistas of achievement in life!
Dream again; see yourself still achieving your target before December 31 of this year. “Imagination is everything; it is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” Albert Einstein
See yourself bringing home a wonderful result at the end of this academic term, semester or session. What you see is what you seize eventually!

2.    UPDATE YOUR KNOWLEDGE BANK
The realization of your set goals demands that you become better by knowing more.
Updating yourself is what keeps you so close to the reach of your dreams.
In order not to be outdated you must remain updated always. Life is a school; every one alive today is a student. Decide to be an active student in the school of life!

Great American business philosopher -Jim Rohn once noted that- ‘Success is what you attract by the person you become.’ Who you become is influenced by what you learn and know.
We are influenced by what we know!
What we know has a way of molding our lives.
To know more is to become more!

The value you become in life is a function of the value you add to yourself in the place of personal development.

What you are waiting to achieve maybe just a piece of information away sitting quietly in a book or in audio CD.

One major disservice anyone can do to himself in this generation is to ignore the relevant information needed to turn your dreams into realities.
The value you become in life by virtue of personal development is what determines the value that comes back to you in life.
Life is always fair at the end; it will give back to you what you have sown into it.

While it is true that you may not be able to control what happens to you, it is certain that you can control how you respond to the events of your life. However, your response is shaped by the quality of information available to you per time.  If you know more you will respond better!
It’s been well said that the largest room in the world is the room of self-improvement.

3.   COMMITMENT
The next step to fastrack your life is to commit to the desired results you want in your life.
The average man gets involved while the super achiever gets committed. The latter goes all the way to ensure that it is done. While the former keeps making excuses as to why it cannot be done. Commitment is giving it all you have so you can obtain all it contains.
You cannot pursue, overtake and recover all your set goals without 100% commitment on your part.

4.     TIME MANAGEMENT
There’s something that we all have in equal proportions. There’s a treasure chest that is available to all humans alive today. It comes to everyone in measures of 24hours daily. The secret of the rich is the effective management of the allotted time for each day.
Time is one major asset in life available to all, how it is used and managed per day.                         Time well managed is a major booster to your recovery in life.

In order to effectively manage your time, you must manage your focus well. Wherever focus goes there energy is dissipated. (To Understand Focus better, Click: The Potency of Focus)
Always remember that success is what you attract by the kind of person you become.

So with a few weeks and days to go this year, you can still achieve your goals, if you can work on yourself more.
